Glassbreak Alarm Sensor
Protect your home and improve your security with an acoustic glassbreak sensor.
These sensors are omni-directional, providing 360 degrees coverage and the sensor
can be mounted as close as 3.3ft (1m) from the glass. Coverage is measured from
the sensor to the point on the glass farthest from the sensor. Acoustic pattern
recognition technology recognizes the actual pattern of glass breaking across the
full audio band.
The glassbreak sensor unobtrusively mounts into a ceiling or wall so that it is
recessed. These sensors trigger an alarm when it hears the sound of breaking glass.
It's ideal for protecting areas in your home with multiple windows, even if the
doors and windows are protected by contact sensors. For example, if a burglar throws
a rock through your sliding glass door, contact sensors won't set off the alarm
system, but a glassbreak sensor will. These devices retail at around $40.
